Yucca have long triangle-shaped or sword-shaped leaves. Many varieties are a dusty green color and have very thick leaves. In early summer they send up a central stalk with white or yellow flowers.

The first 8 pictures were taken in fields out in the country. The last 4 pictures are of suburban landscape plantings.

Yucca like it dry. They are most often found west of Fort Worth in the company of mesquite trees and prickly pear cactus. You can think of yucca as ornamental grass for the desert.
